So Kaylie disappeared upstairs on me for a little while the other day. I was thinking wow she is playing so quietly in her room. Okay that should have been my first clue something was up. I ask her to come downstairs and she kind of took her time. Well you see what a quiet girl upstairs can do. She drew this on with a Crayola marker. She said she wanted a mustache and beard that is why she did it. I wanted to get mad at her because she is my only child that has always liked to draw on EVERYTHING but it was so cute especially when she asks if she can keep it like that until the boys get home from school so they could see it. Luckily it was time for school to get out then. I let her and the boys got a good laugh.
Today is Kaitlyn's 1st birthday! I can't believe it is here already. This past year has seemed to fly by. She is getting so big and learning so much. She is walking all over. She even chased after her brother today. She can show you where her nose and ears are. This week she has started folding her arms when we bless the food and tries to say Amen. I had decorated the house for her party today while she was taking her nap and when I brought her downstairs she got so excited to see the decorations. I was a happy mom! I liked to see that even only being one she liked it. Her birthday theme this year was polka dots. So we put dots up all over and made a dot birthday cake. My kids enjoyed making the dots and posting them all over the house. I am hoping they will be just as excited to take them down. She celebrated her birthday with family. She was a little shy at first with everyone coming over but she came around as the night went along. She doesn't get to see her aunt Tracy, uncle Tyson and her cousins that much so she was glad they came. Kaitlyn had her own little birthday cake. She didn't know what to think about it at first but once she tasted it she decided it wasn't to bad. She liked to hear everyone sing Happy Birthday to her. She kept looking at me with a smile. Kaitlyn is an amazing little girl. She is always happy. She has a big smile that just makes you feel good. I have been blessed with such a special girl. I look forward to watching her continue to grow and learn new things.
Chris started Jr. Jazz this month. Chad is helping coach his team. This year the boys play full court and they are keeping score. Chris is playing really good and is improving each week. We are looking forward in watching him play on Saturdays. Cade is still doing Tae Kwon Do and is doing really well. He got a new belt last month so he will start working on earning new stripes for this belt. Kaylie is enjoying dance. She can't get enough of it. Her competitions will be starting in another month or so. Kaitlyn is getting bigger and is learning something new everyday. She will be one next week. Where does time go. Some of her favorite things to do now are climb stairs and anything else, do hair with Kaylie, dance, listen to the ipod, walking around (almost on her own), and playing with her brothers and sister. She enjoys feeding herself and making a mess while doing it. Chad had a birthday this month. Another year older :) He is playing on two basketball teams. He is playing on the Lehi League and church ball. He is still staying busy at work. Tanya is still running everyone everywhere and enjoying it. She is still playing on a indoor soccer team. Everyday is busy but it is worth it.
So Christmas went great! We all had a lot of fun. Santa was nice to the kids this year I didn't hear any complaints:) We made cookies for Santa, opened a couple of gifts on Christmas Eve and played games. I got an early Christmas present when Colby called on Christmas Eve. It was so nice to hear from him. Christmas morning we opened presents and we all talked to Colby when he called. We spent Christmas morning with Tiffanie, Wade, Caleb and Geralee. Tom and Sandi came over that afternoon. It was nice to get to spend time with family. I talked with my mom and dad on the phone since they are living in Tennessee. We miss you! We got a ton of snow for Christmas which was really nice. We hope everyone had a great holiday! Happy New Year!!!
