Foam Fest

So Lehi had there first Foam Fest Friday and what a blast!!! This was an event that I hope they continue to do. The kids had soooooo much fun. I think I had just as much fun watching them. What was the Foam Fest? Well the Lehi Fire Department sprayed the field at the park by our house with Foam from the fire trucks and the kids went nuts. They covered the field in it and then they would spray it into the air which I think was the favorite by most.

Then they had another truck that you could go and it was like a giant shower for those who needed to be rinsed off. It was an event that wasn't like anything else we went to and I think that added to the fun. The boys would have foam fights and Kaylie just ran around like crazy (even sliding on her stomach).

It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

Charity Basketball Camp

Chris wanted to do a basketball camp this summer. I looked into several and found the Travis Hansen Charity Camp. He went for 3 days for 3 hours a day. He had a great time and he learned a lot. He was able to meet a few basketball players and Coach Rose. He met Ronnie Price, Shaun Bradley, and Travis Hansen.

He couldn't believe how short he was standing next to Bradley.
On the second day when the camp was over they each answered questions about themselves and then they put together a bag a school supplies. They put the paper with there info with the school supplies so when the kids receive it they would know a little about the person who sent it to them. It was a great experience for him!

Trip to the Canyon...

This past week we went to the American Fork Canyon. My kids enjoy going up there to go hiking. We went to Granite Flatts and hung out for awhile. The kids did some hiking and the rest of us did some more catching up. It was a beautiful day and it is still so green up there. Kaitlyn enjoyed following the big kids hiking. I think I should have put long pants on her though she did fall a couple times and she scraped up both knees. She didn't seem to mind she just kept going.

Another One Gone

Kaylie lost her second tooth yesterday. It has been loose forever and it has been barely hanging on for days. Yesterday her Nana was encouraging her to get it out so she asked me to see if I could get it but was then to afraid to let me try. It began to bleed a little from her wiggling it so I gave her a cloth and when she put it in her mouth out fell the tooth. She actually didn't realize it until I told her. So got a surprised look on her face and said I didn't even feel it.

The Family

Every year I look forward to the 4th of July barbecue. We have the family barbecue at our house then we will either do fireworks here or we go and watch them at Thanksgiving Point.

This year Chads mom, grandma, brother, his girlfriend Natasha, my parents, my sister and her family all came to the barbecue. We started by having dinner and hanging out chit chatting. The kids enjoyed playing outside while the rest of us had a chance to catch up.

This year we decided to go and watch Thanksgiving Points fireworks. Chad and I happen to find a new spot to watch them from. It worked out great! Not a lot of people and no traffic to fight afterwards. Kaitlyn loved the fireworks. Before the ones at Thanksgiving Point started there were a lot of others going off all over and she just sat on my lap talking, pointing and laughing. When the "real" fireworks started she went nuts. All the happy sounds she made was just adorable not to mention she said Oh Yeah! to several of them.

Everyone seemed to have a good time both at dinner and at the fireworks.

Lehi Round Up

So I am a little behind on posting...again. I have a lot to get caught up on. I thought I would start by sharing a little of what we did for the Round up this year. It seems like we weren't able to do as much of the activities as we did last year. Our schedules this year seem to be a lot more hectic. My parents arrived on Friday at around 12:30. The kids and I picked them up from the air port and went and picked up pizza for lunch. We came back to the house and my sister and her family came over and we all had lunch. That evening we went to the parade. The kids had a blast (and got a lot of candy to). My niece Julie is a 6th grade cheerleader so she was in the parade on Friday night. Kaylie loves cheerleaders so that was her favorite part of the parade. She even took her pom poms with her. Cade went to the rodeo that night with his uncle Colby. They said they got a little wet but they had a good time. Cade usually doesn't like the rodeo but he said this year that he loved it and wants to go again next year!

Saturday morning we went to the parade again and again the kids scored a lot of candy. Every year we watch all of the parades from Grandma Ekins house. She has a great spot on the route and it is fun to sit with family. Chris saw a lot of people he knew in the parade that day. Colby was in the parade. He was a bowling ball. You look great Colby :) The weather was great. It was overcast for most of it so we didn't get to hot. Kaitlyn really enjoyed the parade this year. She may not have watched all of it but she thought is was great to be outside and check out things her and there.

We went to the Family Fun day in the park with my parents, sister and her kids and my sister and brother in law and their son. Again the kids had a blast!! They rode the bull, climbed the rock wall, got dunked in the dunking booth by mom and dad, did the blow up slides and rode the ponies. We saw a lot of people their that we haven't seen in a while. That night Chad and I were suppose to go to our 15 yr reunion but while we were at the park Chad started to get sick which only got worse so we were unable to make it this year :( Maybe next time!

All in all we had a good time. This week is one of my favorite times in the summer!!
