We went to Disneyland!!!

We went our our first real vacation this past week. Pretty sad I know but we sure had a lot of fun. We went to Disenyland!!!!! We went on a six day trip to Disneyland. The kids had a ton of fun. My favorite part of the trip was watching the kids get so excited over things. It kept a smile on my face. After going on Splash Mountain all we could talk about was how crazy steep that drop was. You know it looked steep when you weren't on it but when you were looking over it as your getting ready to drop it got a whole lot steeper. The kids said that there favorite part was all the roller coaster and pirates. Cade was a little nervous to do the roller coasters but he tried them all but the Screamin' (which I didn't want him to go on anyway) and he enjoyed them all. He wanted to ride them all again but we were only able to get the Matterhorn riden twice. Colby and I decided to try the Screamin' roller coaster in California Adventure. I just about backed out on him when we were getting on. What was I thinking I can't handle this ride. Right when it started to count down and send us off at a hundred miles an hour I thought to myself I sure hope I don't have a heart attack and I left my stomach on the top of the first drop. But after the first drop I was all smiles. It was one of the best rides that I rode while I was there. I never thought I would say that. I don't do heights and usually I try to stay away from rides like that.

Kaitlyn did really well. We stayed at the park all day each day and she was fine the whole time. I was afraid that she would be ready to go early but not the case. She got a little fussy here and there but nothing that I can complain about.

Chris was loving it all. He enjoyed the roller coasters the most. I think he would have tried the screamin' if he wouldn't have been feeling bad at the time we went. Kaylie did great on all the rides. There was no fear in her. She was willing to try anything. Cade really enjoyed the Star Wars Jedi Training show. Chris and him were choosen to go up and be part of the training.

Overall the trip was great!! The weather was perfect the whole time. We took a day to just relax so we spent it at Newport Beach and swimming at the hotel pool. We had full buffet breakfast every morning at the hotel which was a really nice way to start each day.

Kaylies 1st Dance Competition

Kaylie had her first dance competition last Saturday. We had a lot of fun. She was the first dance of the competition so we had to be there early (which meant we had to get up early). This is her first year on the dance team so we didn't really know what to expect. The competition was in West Valley and there were 10 teams. We were the only group from Utah County the rest were from Salt Lake County. It was broken up into several different dance catorgories. There was a lot of great teams there. Kaylie danced two dance routines. The first dance was called OK Coral which they were little cowgirls. They used stick horses and hats for there props. On the picture above she is the last little cowgirl left and she gets shot at the end of the dance and has to fall down and play dead. She has practiced this a lot, she said it doesn't hurt anymore she knows how to fall right now:) The second routine is called Happy Working Song (from the movie Enchanted). They are dressed as maids using feather dusters. It is a way cute dance. They took second place in both dances. We are really proud of her and are looking forward to her 3 other dance competition that are coming up.

Kaylie loves to dance (and sing). She practices her dances everyday and can't wait for dance classes.

So Kaylie is in a contest that is being hosted by 97.1 zht called Kiddieokee. She is sing her favorite song "Love Story" by Taylor Swift.

How the contest works is by voting online. She is in the 5-7 year old group and her entry # is 21. You can view her video by selecting View 5-7 year olds and you can vote for her by using the Vote Now button underneath it. When you go to vote it will give you the directions on the how to do it. You can only vote one time per computer (but if you know anyone else who can vote to that would be great :) ).

Kaylie loves to sing and dance so this was a lot of fun for her. She is excited and is hoping to win a new backyard set :)

Kaitlyn and the Piano

So one of Kaitlyn's favorite things to do at Grandmas house is playing the piano. She could just sit there and play it forever. She loves anything to do with music.

Kaitlyn is now 13 1/2 months old. I thought I would write about some of the things that she enjoys doing.

*Dancing-Kaylie was practicing her dance today for her competition and Kaitlyn was doing some of the moves with her. I wish I would have had the camera. She would do the arm movements and would get down on the floor and do the moves to. She will dance to any music anywhere. We might have another little dancer on our hands.
*Music-She loves all music. She loves her toys that play music, ipods, car radio, music on TV shows. She will try to sing along with it.
*Talking on the phone-She will hold my cell phone or her toy one to her ear and say hello. She will continue to talk as if she was talking to someone. I think I am going to be in trouble if this continues.
*Laughing-She is always so happy. She will laugh at anything. She keeps a smile on my face.
*Walking (now running)-She loves walking everywhere now. When I go to get her she finds it fun to try to run from me. She is even laughing while doing it.
*Playing with Kaylie-The two of them love playing in Kaylies room. They can play together forever :)
*Climbing-Loves to climb on everything. We have barstool chairs in the kitchen and she will push something next to them to climb into the chairs. Ok while I am typing this she put Kaylies stool by a folding chair and climbed into it. She scares me!
*Other-She likes to wash her hair in the bath, brush her hair when I am doing Kaylies, looking at books, playing in the bath tub, ride on her little riding toy, folds her arms when saying the prayer and says amen, she is an awesome imitator.
*Words she says-Daddy, mom, mama, this, please, good, brothers, Chris, amen
